We use 100% full-grain pebbled cowhide leather throughout the exterior of the Ventra Sport Bag. Full-grain is the highest grade of leather available — the natural, outermost grain surface of the hide is left entirely intact rather than sanded, buffed, or corrected.

We do not use top-grain, split, or bonded leather. These lower grades have had the natural grain surface removed or reconstructed, which reduces the structural integrity and long-term durability of the finished product. Full-grain leather becomes more characterful with use, developing a natural patina over time that is specific to how and where the bag is carried.

The Ventra Sport Bag uses YKK® Excella metal zippers throughout — the reference standard in metal zipper hardware, used across heritage luggage and high-end fashion. YKK® Excella is rated for high-cycle daily use and operates smoothly under load.

Interior pocket zippers use YKK® nylon. All other hardware — clips, D-rings, and strap adjusters — is solid metal. We do not use plastic or low-grade alloy components anywhere in the functional construction of the bag.

The Ventra has an approximate capacity of 20L. The main compartment offers wide-access opening and is designed to carry a full gym kit — clothing, footwear, a towel, and electronics — without losing its structure when partially loaded.

The Ventra features a dedicated lower compartment that is fully sealed and independently accessed via its own zipper. It is lined with a synthetic water-resistant material and is designed specifically to isolate wet or soiled items — training shoes, damp gear, or laundry — from the clean contents of the main compartment.

All CalvesClub bags are designed, assembled, quality-checked, and dispatched from our workshop at Lattersey Hill Trading Estate in Peterborough, United Kingdom. There are no third-party manufacturers, no overseas assembly operations, and no fulfilment warehouses separate from our workshop.

We produce in small, controlled batches. This is not a marketing position — it is a practical constraint of our workshop process. Each batch is assembled by our resident leather artisans and inspected individually before dispatch.

No. Despite the name CalvesClub, our current Ventra Sport Bag is made entirely from full-grain pebbled cowhide leather. Cowhide was specifically selected for this product because of its superior thickness, structural resilience, and suitability for larger carryalls that need to hold their shape under sustained daily use.

Calfskin, while fine-grained and supple, does not offer the same structural weight-bearing properties required for a bag of this capacity and intended use.

Standard shipping is free on all orders delivered within the United Kingdom. There is no minimum order value and no additional charges applied at checkout for domestic UK delivery.

At present, CalvesClub ships exclusively within the United Kingdom. We do not currently offer international shipping to destinations outside the UK.

We are unable to deliver to P.O. Boxes due to the tracking and signature requirements of our courier partners. A full residential or business address is required at checkout.

We accept returns within 30 days of the date your order is delivered. To be eligible, the bag must be completely unused and in its original condition, including all original packaging, dust bags, and tags, along with your proof of purchase.

Items that show signs of use, damage, or that are returned without original packaging will not be accepted for a full refund. If you have a question about whether your item qualifies, contact us at contact@calvesclub.com before sending it back.
